Application and test method
The pin is applied with a force of 5 N in every direction that can reasonably be expected in service. No live part shall be touched. For shuttered socket-outlets the pin shall not open the shutter, and shall not reach any live part through the shutter.

Handling and maintenance
The pin is a precision gauge. Clean it after use, apply a light film of anti-rust oil and store separately to protect the tip.
