Purpose: The maximum withdrawal force gauge is a precision steel gauge manufactured to the dimensions of the standard drawing. It is used for the maximum withdrawal force test of plugs and socket-outlets: the gauge is inserted into the socket-outlet under test (or the socket-outlet gauge is engaged with the plug under test) and an axial withdrawal force is applied; the force at which the gauge separates from the socket-outlet is compared with the limit specified by the standard.
