EN 50636-2-100 Figure 2 & ISO 5395-3:2013 Figure B.4 Adult Arm Probe Set SC-50636K4 (4 pcs)
SC-50636K4 is a four-piece adult arm probe set for risk assessment of power garden tools and pedestrian-controlled lawnmowers. It contains two EN 50636-2-100 Figure 2 adult arm probes and two ISO 5395-3:2013 Figure B.4 adult arm test probes, supplied in a dedicated carrying case.
The two types look alike but are machined to the critical dimensions of their own standard figures and are not interchangeable. The Figure 2 probe has a nylon handle, a metal arm with a 90° bent tip and a pivoting knuckle, and a Ø60 stop disc that limits insertion depth. The Figure B.4 probe is a ball-nose type: Ø12 ball tip, Ø20 / Ø28 stepped diameters, Ø50 stop disc and 180 mm effective insertion depth.

Test procedure
- Select the probe to match the equipment: Figure 2 adult arm for garden tool cutting means, Figure B.4 for lawnmower cutting-means guarding.
- Insert the probe into the opening and push along the tortuous path until the stop disc is reached.
- Apply the force specified in the relevant clause; rotate the knuckle or vary the approach angle to cover the reachable envelope of a human arm.
- Observe whether the probe tip can touch blades or other hazardous moving parts. Contact means the guarding fails and the opening must be reduced, the path lengthened or a deflector added.
