Product overview

The SC-TTF10 temperature-rise test lampholder sleeve (nickel sleeve) is made to IEC 60360:2002 Figure 10 with an inside diameter of 14.5 mm. It clamps B15d without skirt lamp caps during lamp-cap temperature-rise measurement and reproduces the heat path of a standard lampholder, so that results from different laboratories remain comparable.

The sleeve is rolled from Japanese pure nickel sheet and slit longitudinally; a 316 stainless steel spring wire wrapped 1–1.5 turns around the sleeve holds the lamp cap by spring action. The surface is smooth, free from bending, waviness, indentations, inclusions and grease.

Standards

  • IEC 60360:2002 – Lamp cap temperature rise, Figure 10 (inside diameter 14.5 mm)
  • GB/T 24392-2009 – Method of measurement of lamp cap temperature rise
  • QB/T 2512-2001 – Method of measurement of lamp cap temperature rise

Construction and material

A single-layer nickel cylinder with a longitudinal slit; grain size not coarser than ASTM 8, slit width controlled as specified in IEC 60360 Figure 10 so that the sleeve expands and contracts freely on the cap. The 316 stainless steel spring wire provides a stable clamping force that changes little after repeated use.

How to use

  1. Select the sleeve that matches the lamp cap under test (B15d without skirt → SC-TTF10).
  2. Push the cap into the sleeve; the spring wire clamps it so that the sleeve wall sits against the cap.
  3. Mount the assembly in the test lampholder and fix the thermocouple as required by IEC 60360.
  4. Switch on and read the temperature rise after stabilization. Do not knock, flare or re-bend the sleeve during the test – this alters the clamping force and the heat path.
  5. Clean off grease after use and store separately to avoid deformation.
