BS 546:2025 Figure 22 gauge for verifying resistance to lateral stress, 15 A, model SC-B5F22-15A. It checks that a South African 15 A socket-outlet, with a plug inserted, withstands lateral (side) stress without permanent deformation or displacement of the contact tubes, the body or its fixing.
Standard: BS 546:2025 Figure 22. The gauge is a simulated plug built to the 15 A pin layout: a Ø50 mm disc body 9.06 mm thick, three pins on the face (earth Ø8.66 mm, current-carrying Ø7.01 mm) at 25.55 mm x 25.73 mm centres, pin length 29.0 mm, and a Ø5 / Ø4 loading stem at the rear for applying the force perpendicular to the engagement face.
Test procedure: insert the gauge fully into the socket-outlet, apply the lateral force specified in the standard through the loading stem (magnitude, direction and duration as required by the clause), then examine the contact tubes for displacement and the body and mounting surface for cracks or permanent deformation, and re-check insertion with the GO gauge.

- Measured dimension data and calibration certificate supplied with the goods
