Standard: TIS 166-2549 – Thai Industrial Standard for Plugs and Socket-Outlets for Household and Similar Purposes: Plugs and Socket-Outlets with Rated Voltage not Exceeding 250 V. Appendix A of the standard defines the gauges: Figures A.1 to A.5 check the dimensions of the socket-outlet, Figures A.6 and A.7 check the withdrawal force, and Figures A.8 to A.10 are the additional gauges for socket-outlets.

Application

The Figure A.5 gauge checks the dimensions of a socket-outlet in the initial condition, before the endurance and ageing tests.

Version A.5-1 covers round pin and flat-round pin socket-outlets; version A.5-2 covers flat-round pin socket-outlets. The correct profile is entered into the socket openings with the shutters open, and the gauge shall enter freely without force over the whole engagement depth.

Dimensions and tolerances of the gauge are those of TIS 166-2549 Figure A.5 (1) and Figure A.5 (2).

• Profile machined to the dimensions of Figure A.5 (1) for round pin and flat-round pin socket-outlets
• Separate version for flat-round pin socket-outlets, Figure A.5 (2)
• Lifting ring for handling and for withdrawal
