Standard: TIS 166-2549 – Thai Industrial Standard for Plugs and Socket-Outlets for Household and Similar Purposes: Plugs and Socket-Outlets with Rated Voltage not Exceeding 250 V. Appendix A of the standard defines the gauges: Figures A.1 to A.5 check the dimensions of the socket-outlet, Figures A.6 and A.7 check the withdrawal force, and Figures A.8 to A.10 are the additional gauges for socket-outlets.
Application
The Figure A.9 gauge checks the maximum withdrawal force of a flat-round pin socket-outlet (TIS 166-2549, clause 22).
The length of the gauge body is chosen so that sufficient weight is obtained within a height of 50 mm, and additional weights are supplied where the standard requires them. The rounded pin end reproduces the pin of the standard plug.
The drawing in the standard expresses the type and the dimensions of the gauge only; the withdrawal force is measured with the gauge fully inserted and pulled at a steady rate.

- Rounded pin end reproducing the pin of the standard plug
- Body length giving sufficient weight within a height of 50 mm; additional weights supplied
